Different...Differently.

As we head into the new year of 2017, we should consider what our new year should look like.
But instead of trying to have us make a whole bunch of resolutions, I just want to have you ask yourself these questions. And trust me, I will be ask myself these questions also. Some questions are meant for younger people, though, just so you know.

Before we begin, I want you to know that you don't have to give an exact answer to these in your mind right now, but if you can answer them with any sort of answer, great! But know that you don't have to figure everything out right now.
Life's like that I guess, too. You don't always have to figure everything out immediately.

And if you don't want to read/answer these questions, please read what I wrote after them, as I continue with this post.
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
How can I move forward in my life this year?
How can I better my resume/experiences/knowledge this year?
How can I move towards my dreams and/or dream job(s) (Or general area of jobs being considered)?

What can I do for God this year?

What can I do to better myself?

What can I do to better myself for God's plan for my life?
(We can never know what God will do with our life, but we—especially us kids, teens, and younger adults—need to ready ourselves for God's work in us and through us...even if we don't know what we're doing!)

What are two things that I need/want to change about my thinking habits?
Is there something God would want me to change?

What are two things that I need/want to change about my actions/habits/self?
What are two things that God would want me to change about my actions/habits/self?

Do I need to change or refine my habits/thoughts/self in any catagories of my life?
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
That's all, friends, on the questions. I hope that 2017 will be the start of something new for us. SOMETHING BIGGER THAN 2016, and something BETTER than 2016.
Remember this: God can build you up even more in this new year, "taller" than you have ever been, and stronger than you ever have been before, USING THE OLD as a foundation for the NEW in your life.

As you step into 2017, take a different step. Different than any other new year. And do it DIFFERENTLY.

God has called us to be different. Not normal. Plus, there is no such thing as normal, anyway☺. We are all different. But what it means is that instead of going with the flow on everything, stand up and be different than everyone expects/wants/thinks you to be. Stand up in faith, purity, love, morality, kindness, truth, what you allow yourself to be affected by, etc.

That kind of different is good.

Unto Us...

"The Government of the Promised Son

Nevertheless the gloom will not be upon her who is distressed,
As when at first He lightly esteemed
The land of Zebulun and the land of Naphtali,
And afterward more heavily oppressed her,
By the way of the sea, beyond the Jordan,
In Galilee of the Gentiles.
The people who walked in darkness
Have seen a great light;
Those who dwelt in the land of the shadow of death,
Upon them a light has shined.
You have multiplied the nation
And increased its joy;[a]
They rejoice before You
According to the joy of harvest,
As men rejoice when they divide the spoil.
For You have broken the yoke of his burden
And the staff of his shoulder,
The rod of his oppressor,
As in the day of Midian.
For every warrior’s sandal from the noisy battle,
And garments rolled in blood,
Will be used for burning and fuel of fire.
For unto us a Child is born,
Unto us a Son is given;
And the government will be upon His shoulder.
And His name will be called
Wonderful, Counselor, Mighty God,
Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace.
Of the increase of His government and peace
There will be no end,
Upon the throne of David and over His kingdom,
To order it and establish it with judgment and justice
From that time forward, even forever.
The zeal of the Lord of hosts will perform this."

This is Isaiah 9: 1-7. I copied it from Bible Gateway(click for the source.)

Shall You Not Know It?

"Do not remember the former things, nor consider the things of old. Behold, I will do a new thing, now it shall spring forth; shall you not know it? I will even make a road in the wilderness, and rivers in the desert."
Isaiah 43:18-19

Please consider this verse. I think it is a great verse to head up into the new year of 2017.

Happy Christmas Eve!

Merry Christmas everyone!

As we anticipate for tomorrow, sip our hot chocolate, go to Christmas Eve service, and scurry around with last minute preparations, let's remember to look to Jesus, who came to earth to save us from our sin.
The same Jesus who literally was God in Man.
The same Jesus who let Himself be humbled and take on the form of a Man so that He might live with us, and experience what we can experience--be tempted, be hurt, and ultimately be killed--just so that we might have a closer relationship with Him. So that we may have freedom over the old laws of the Old Testament, and have freedom in the New Testament. (Though just because things are not mentioned in the New Testament, doesn't mean they are forbidden.)

God became Man, to die for us--putting the bondadge of our sin to death with Him on the cross--so that we may have ETERNAL LIFE WITH HIM, if we accept and follow Him and His Word.
Jesus loves you, and wants you to know that no matter what you do, or no matter what happens, He still loves you, and He is seeking a relationship with you. Don't turn Him down, for you either will follow Him now, or you will follow Him later, for every knee will bow to God, and every tongue will confess that Jesus is Lord. I'm not trying to threaten you, but it's true. When Jesus comes back, every tongue will confess, and every knee will bow to Him. But that also does not mean everyone will go to Heaven. Yet again, I am not trying to scare you, but I am warning you, for I love you in Christ.
So let's follow Him freely, and willingly, knowing that God is Love, and God is Just--FOR THAT IS WHERE WE WILL FIND OUR JOY AND OUR HAPPINESS.

So  as we move into this Christmas, remember the reason for Christmas, and not only that, but also the reason for Jesus, who is the reason for Christmas--to bring us a second chance, and to be our Savior, offering life and freedom to everyone who accepts it.

If you would like to accept Jesus as the Lord of your life, and be saved, repeat this prayer, honestly and justly, and follow it, and you will be saved:
Jesus, I believe that you are the one and only Son of God, and I ask you to come into my heart, and become my God. I believe that You rose Jesus from the grave after He died for my sin on the cross. I want you to be the Lord of my life.
Amen.

I hope this gives you hope this Christmas.
Merry Christmas!

Alright, in 1914, World War I, Germany and Britain(England) had a Christmas truce, and troops from either side came out into the no-man's-land in between the trenches where they fought, and gave gifts, played, celebrated Christmas, etc. Well, this video is actually a chocolate commercial, but it captures this scene in a very epic way. It really is an awesome video, and I definitely recommend it.

And just so you know, there is also a behind the scenes video, that I'm sure you can probably find on Youtube.

Also, the truce began when the song Silent Night was being sung....
Silent night, holy night,
All is calm, all is bright....

What was the tastiest looking dish to you?
I think the most tastiest looking to me out of all these, at least right now, is the cranberry sauce or the Yorkshire puddings.
Based on WWII, I believe.

Christmas markets are held in most towns in France at some point from November to December and offer a wide variety of things to choose from.

Yes, someday I would like to go to France...that would be amazing. Do you want to go? Have you ever been? Do you live in France, or have you lived there before? I'd love to hear about it in the comments! I'll reply if you do!

And not only for the sights, tastes, and culture do I want to go to France now, but also because of the history that took place there. I am a majorly interested in WWII, and so I think it would be cool to go and see some historical sights there...and places...even if it's not an attraction.
