Verse of the Week #14

"For behold, I create new heavens and a new earth; and the former things shall not be remembered or come to mind." Isaiah 65:17
But,
"Peace I leave with you, My peace I give to you; not as the world gives do I give to you. Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid." John 14:27
Do not fear things to come, (and I am telling this to everyone including myself!) because He gives us peace about things if we seek it. But if we worry while seeking, we won't find that peace we want. When someone asks you how your doing with the something you are worrying about, just smile and say that it is in God's hands and you are not going to worry anymore.

Leibster Award

Here are the questions I was asked:
1. What is your favorite school subject? Least favorite?
Um, that is hard. I have two favorite subjects. Spelling and science. My least would be math right now.
2. What is your favorite pastime?
Writing to my Pen Pals. And having Pen Pals.

3. At what age did you receive Christ? (If you have)
Yes, I have. I asked God to be my God at age 6. But I did not begin to understand until I was 10. So I consider myself an actual Christian until age 10.

4. What is your ideal vacation spot?
Um. I would like to go hiking/rock climbing. I don't know where though. I would like to go to Colorado someday though.

5. Who is your favorite author/series/book?
I don't particularly have a favorite author. I like the Red Rock Mysteries series and I enjoyed the Percy Jackson series. On of my favorite books is Alone Yet Not Alone. I also like the American Girl History Mysteries. But ultimately I like lots of stuff, I don't hold a favorite.

6. What is your favorite food? Least favorite?
I would have to say that I don't like ham and beans. I just eat the cornbread! I love chicken & dumplings though, and I also love pork tenderloin sandwich. I actually have many favorite foods.

7. If you were given a million dollars, what would you do with it? (Honestly now...not what you think would be good but what would YOU do?)
I would get a big trampoline, because mine broke by getting thrown around in some strong wind. Then I would get dance lessons. And then I would get a good camera and stand, and a laptop computer. I would of coarse tithe and do an offering also.

8. What is your favorite joke?
Why did the chicken cross the road?
To show the possum it could be done!
(For those who don't get it, possums are the biggest road kill animal around where I live--Missouri.)

9. What is your favorite bible character and story?
I think Mary. It is just that she went against everyone else to be God's servant. She (probably) was forever misunderstood. And she still chose to worship God. I also like the story of Miriam. She helped save her brother Moses, and was there when the Egyptians came out of slavery, and she was a worship leader.

10. Do you like writing? Have you published anything?
I love writing when I want to. I also like keeping a science journal when I do my science. I used to hate writing of any kind. But not anymore. I have not published anything, but I hope I can someday. I have started a few novels, but not finished them. I am bad about that, but I am improving. I am working on a novel now that I know I can finish.

11. Briefly share an exciting adventure that you have had. ;)
Um, I went to Arkansas two years ago. It was fun but I also discovered seed ticks. Ticks are my worst enemy. I was walking down to the lake through the woods and I stepped in a pile of them unknowingly and I freaked out. I guess that is an adventure, I don't know.

I nominate:

My dad, from http://lowelllane.com/
Emily from Teen For The Lord

Verse of the Week #13

Psalm 46:10
"Be still and know that I am God; I will be exalted among the nations, I will be exalted in the earth."

Be still. Wait. Yellow light! Slow down! This is one of the hardest, but somehow it is still a favorite of many. We Christians, all of us, need to work on being still. God does not need help with everything. Actually He does not need help at all, He just chooses to do things through us.
Sometimes we need to just be STILL and know that HE IS GOD.

Have a wonderful week everyone! I want to ask you to check out a blog I like. It is called A Great God And Good Cocoa. Just click the name! Bethany is a great girl of God. I think some of her posts will encourage you; as they have encouraged me.

A Poem: Love with Care

The cry of a bird,
A happy or sad word.
A day full of strife,
So the cry of the heart pierces like a knife.
Be careful heart, be careful who you love,
For some will promise, turn, and fly above.

But harden your heart not,
Remember, love cannot be bought.
Love as Jesus did,
And of compassion, don't be rid.

Hate people not,
For your love may be all they've got.

I wrote this poem. Please do not use elsewhere.
I did give permission to Bethany at A Great God And Good Cocoa.

Have a Good Day

Hello Friends!
I put all these pictures in a video because there were so many. There will be more pictures coming soon.  Have a great day and welcome to the spring!

I hope you all are having a good day. Sometimes we can get frustrated with life and form a habit of having bad days all the time. But, let us be happy even in times of trouble. I hope all of you, along with me, will pursue the peace God has given to those who accept it. He truly is a great God. And just deciding to have a good day in the morning can effect the whole day. Keep reminding yourself throughout the day that you are going to have a good day. So, HAVE A GOOD DAY!

Verse of the Week #12

Isaiah 41:10 (NIV)
"So do not fear, for I am with you; do not be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you and help you; I will uphold you with my righteous right hand."

Isn't that refreshing? To know that you don't have to fear because God is always with you? I know it is for me!
"....God will always be right with you wherever you go...." -Laura Lane (My mom!)
Then He says not to be dismayed. We don't have to be sad anymore! Because guess what! He is our God. He is our God.  Then He continues to tell us that He will give us strength; and help to go along with that strength. Because He knows that with just strength, we can do nothing; but with His help also, we can achieve the impossible. He says He will uphold us!!
Have a great week friends. What do you think of this verse? I would love to hear from you.

Jumbo Verse of the Week #11

Christ has risen! Happy Resurrection Day!
Other people put the story online so you can read it at your own convenience. I won't though; not this time at least. I want to encourage and inspire you to read it yourself. And don't just read the part where Jesus is risen. Read the whole story. Where can you find it? The Bible! Read from the accounts of.... Matthew: 26-28.
Mark: 14-16.
Luke: 21-24.
John: 13-20.

Now for the verse of the week! Well, I have several that share the same message.

2 Samuel 22:31
"As for God, His way is perfect; the word of the Lord is flawless. He is a shield for all who take refuge in Him."

"He makes my feet like the feet of a deer; He enables me to stand on the heights... With Your help (God's) I can advance against a troop; with my God I can scale a wall."
2 Samuel 33:34, and 30.

I would also like to share this impacting video along with the verse of the week.

I hope you enjoy your week and I want to thank you for reading my blog. I really appreciate it. Also, I would like to host an idea post soon where you can pitch in ideas for something you would like me to talk about or write on. Anything is welcome. When I can get things worked out, I would love to do it.

Alone Yet Not Alone Movie

I wrote this a LONG while back when the movie was in theaters, but I still agree with my review.

Hey guys!
A while back I did a review of the Alone Yet Not Alone book (CLICK HERE).

And I watched the movie a while back, but I just now got to publish this post. I just wanted to say it is my favorite movie! I love this movie. I do recommend not letting any kids under 11 or 12 watching it. I was 12 & 1/2 when I watched it. It is not that it is a bad movie, it's just that it is historically correct, so it has some violent scenes in it.  I think it is an amazing movie that points to trusting in God even when your life is on the line.  Alone Yet Not Alone is a historical fiction movie, if that makes sense. Its about two girls who get kidnapped in an Indian raid to their home. The girls are separated and face great challenges to keep alive. Barbara is the main character. She plays it safe until she can escape with some friends. Eventually they find her sister. I am not very good as summaries! This movie is rated PG-13 for violence and war scenes. But yeah, this is a historically correct movie. So you might want to watch it before you let your kids, if you have kids. But as I said it is an amazing movie. If you want more information go to: Alone Yet Not Alone Official Website.

And this is the Alone Yet Not Alone song. This is an amazing song based off the movie by Joni Erickson Tada.
