Birthday Season

It is birthday season at the Lane house right now. My birthday was last week, today is Michael's birthday, and the week after next week is Emily's birthday. If you don't know who Emily and Michael are, they are my sister and brother. I have one other brother too, but his birthday is in January.

I had a great birthday. I turned 13.

Happy EARLY Birthday Emily!

Happy Birthday
A birthday is a special day, one that no one can take from you.
A birthday is the celebration of your life, so make it special.
A birthday is a good time to reflect on the previous years and see how much God has blessed you.
A birthday is a happy time, not a sad time.
It's okay that you're older than last year, because you're probably smarter than you were last year.
The only annoying part about birthdays is having the Happy Birthday sung to you over and over at the most random-est times, even in public!

Happy Birthday to Emily and Michael, you are the best friends I could have. I love you!

Psalm 118:24
"This is the day the Lord has made;
We will rejoice and be glad in it."

I designed the Happy Birthday pictures on Pic Monkey.

DIY: Earring Tree

I was cleaning my room yesterday and found a bunch of those pop can lid things. So I decided to make an earring tree. I am a person who likes to make her own patterns and make stuff up. Now I know my colors do not coordinate, but it is what I had on hand. As mom says: "Use it up, wear it out, make it do, or do without." So! I am doing a tutorial.

Things you will need:
A glue gun and glue
Ribbon of your choice
Mat board
 Pop can lids
(as many as you like according to how long your earrings are.)

1. Cut a piece of ribbon for each side of the mat board. Make sure to cut it at an angle so that it will not shred. Turn it over and make sure it is aligned on the other side.

2. Glue the ribbon to the back of the mat board.

3. Now turn it back over, and glue under the ribbon and press the hot glue until it dries. Repeat until all sides have ribbon outlining the mat board.  Now put it aside.

4. Now bend the little tab that holds the pull thingy on the can down (picture in top right corner). Do this for all of them accept one.

 5. Hot glue all the tabs on. And the different one on the back as shown.

6. Take the one you saved from earlier, and bend the front part down. Then bend off the tab part, and hot glue to the back. Make sure it is in the center or your frame will not hang right.

 And you're done!

If ya'll are wondering how I edit, make collages out of my pictures and design headers, I will openly tell you I use  Pic Monkey. And the best part of it is that it is free!

More than just a verse....

"For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life. For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but to save the world through him."

-John 3:16-17

The writing on the drawing above is Hebrew for "Jesus Messiah".

I love Jesus more than anything. I believe he died for my sins, and for yours, and that even though we are not worthy of his love, he loves us anyway. He died the most painful death--- for us. He didn't have to. He CHOSE to die for the people that yelled "CRUCIFY HIM!" in the crowd!!!!----you and me.

I am hosting a poll for the month of August, on what your favorite name for Jesus is, if they are not your favorite title for Him, please tell me in a comment below.
 Don't forget to vote please!
