what happens!

I have not really been doing much lately other than my grandma Judy's funeral and stuff. Our Uncle Robin is here. He is staying until Wednesday. Thursday, my family and I are going to my Grandpa and step-Grandma (we call her Granny Annie) on my moms sides house in Kansas City. My grandpa and I both think that we make the best pumpkin pie, therefore we are both going to make our pumpkin pies. The family will do a blind taste test. And we will see. I will let you know who wins! I think that my favorite Thanksgiving memory is probably when Granny Annie made pumpkin soup! Ahhh! YUM! That was heavenly! What is your favorite memory? I have lots! What is your favorite group game or 2? I like Ninja, and I have another but I dont know what its called but I will explain: Everyone writes down something you think no one else knows,(hint: try to disguise your handwriting.) fold them up and put them into a container such as a bowl, cup, jar, whatever. Shake it up. Pass around, have each person take a paper, and read it aloud. The person has 1 guess to guess who wrote it. And if you dont get it, you have to wait until your next turn. It just goes till everyone is found out.It usually takes 30 minutes to do this game! But trust me its really really fun! So yeah! I would love to know the fun games your family and friends play! Please tell me in a comment!
Blessings!

Verse Of The Week #14

1 Peter 3:3-4

"Whose adorning let it not be that outward adorning of plaiting the hair, and of wearing of gold, or of putting on of apparel;
But let it be the hidden man of the heart, in that which is not corruptible, even the ornament of a meek and quiet spirit, which is in the sight of God of great price."

Happy Thanksgiving!

Rainy Days!

I like rainy days a lot. Believe it or not I like taking showers when its raining.
I also like listening to the sounds the cars make on the highway when its raining.
But you cant really hear them unless you are by a window or outside yourself.
Plus! Rainy days are good for reading, chocolate chip cookies, and soup!
Also its fun to be with friends when its raining.
Well those are my favorite things about rain.
Please express how you feel about rain in a comment.

Whirl Pools

I wrote this a while back last year, I love weather, water, and natural causes to nature, whirlpools are cool... this was originally a report I had to write.

Whirlpools
By: Amy E Lane
A whirlpool is a swirling body of water that can easily
drown a human if they were dumb enough to swim in them. But fortunately no one has ever deliberately jumped in.
A film crew, interested in chronicling the dangerous potential of their local maelstrom, once threw a mannequin decked in a life jacket and outfitted with a depth detector into the swirling center of the Hag (a very large whirlpool ). After being dragged into the water over 859 feet deep, the mannequin was regurgitated, bedraggled but still in one piece. You would have died from that.Usually whirlpools are caused by ocean tides. Not just any tides, though. They have to be really big.
There are whirlpools mentioned in many stories including “Gulliver travels”, “Pirates of the Caribbean”, “The Little Mermaid”, and many, many more books (Note : most are fiction, including dangers that aren’t accurate).
Here I am going to talk about the 5 biggest whirlpools in the world. These whirlpools are huge. Here we go …..........

  1. The Saltsraumen is located of the coast of Norway.
The Saltsraumen is the biggest and most powerful in the world. Here, the Saltfjord meets the Skjerstadfjord( I can't really can pronounce these names. They're Norwegian words) , resulting in the world’s strongest current; resulting in the Saltsraumen.
Water speeds reach up to 40 miles per hour as the water forces its way
through a narrow channel. The resulting vertices can be up to 33 feet across and 16 feet deep.

2. The Moskstraumen is also located near Norway. Known simply as the Maelstrom, the name is Dutch for “to crush” (malen) and “current” (stroom). This is the 2nd largest whirlpool in the world.
Also, this whirlpool gave inspiration to Jules Verne and Edger Allen Poe
to write novels. Jules Verne wrote: Twenty Thousand Leagues Under The Sea.
And Edger Allen Poe to write: A Decent Into The Maelstrom
http://poestories.com/read/descWell lets continue..... if your getting bored here's a picture to brighten your day. I drew this
3.This is the Corryvreckan, also known as the Hag the third-largest whirlpool in the world, located near the coast of Scotland. It's pretty, isn’t it ? The picture is below this. If you look at it for a while, you will start to glimpse how creative God is even in whirlpools. This is the one they through the manniquine in. This was only the third-largest one.
4.Old sow is the 4th biggest whirlpool in the world (its my favorite) is located off the eastern coast in Maine ,it is the largest tidal
whirlpool in the Western Hemisphere
people say that it makes a hog like snorting sound.Old Sow's water turns at
15 miles per hour! Old sow is 250 feet wide! Pic of Old Sow

5. Now Japan has always boasted about there whirlpool. The Naruto Here is a picture of it . They get lots of tourists on boats out to see it and its not cheap. Japan also boasts about the next
whirlpool-prone stretch of
waters. The Naruto whirlpools
(lots of whirlpools form at the same time) move at
about 10 miles per hour, WOW RIGHT??
So we have learned a little about each of the worlds most biggest whirlpools. This also can happen at the bottom of waterfalls and those are really pretty now lots form at the bottom of Niagara falls but that’s a whole other subject that we will not be covering today here is a really pretty whirlpool that formed at the bottom of a waterfall in the autumn. Its blurry .

More doll clothes!

Here are some more doll clothes I have made! I haven't really been doing it lately but my friend, Julia, came over a few days ago,  and got me in the mood for sewing again! She lives in St. Louis, so I don't get to see her very often.  And since the best things I sew are doll clothes I started it up again. So I would like to share some things with you!
