Goodbye 2013

I am really sad about leaving 2013 behind. But yet I am exited to start this new chapter of my life.  I know that God has a plan for this new year, and I put my faith fully in Him to lead me through the new year of 2014. Put your faith in Him. He knows what 2014 will bring for you and for me. Believe in Him that He will bless you with both your needs and wants. 'Cause He cares about you.

Hebrews 12:2
"Looking unto Jesus, the author and finisher of our faith, who for the joy that was set before Him endured the cross, despising the shame, and has sat down at the right hand of the throne of God."

Jeremiah 29:11
"For I know the plans I have for you, says the Lord, plans of peace and not of evil, to give you a hope and a future."

Psalms 23:6
"Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me, all the days of my life; and I will dwell in the house of the Lord forever."

Hello! If you did not know this blog used to be called Blogging With Momma. When it was called that it used to be Emily's, Michaels, and mine. So this is a post Emily wrote before she changed her blog. She was 13. This was in 2010.

The Apple Tree...Emily
By: Emily Lane
Life is the most difficult play ever written.  But, there is, luckily, one writer, and one only who writes them.
He has hand-picked each life, like an apple, and perfected it; shining and perfecting it so that we might be grateful.  But during the cleaning process, we go through trials that test how good the apple is, or how good our faith is.  But often we forget that God is trying us to our benefit.

Even though scratching the dirt from the surface may hurt, the scraping is for our good.  The trials are for our good.  The question is will you let Him clean you off for a better purpose; or will you stubbornly stick to the tree hoping for more in your life but only rotting and being eaten by birds?  It's your decision.  Decide now.

Your Future

Jeremiah 29:11

"For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future."

So I was thinking...
God can't wait to see what you will do with your life. Even though he already knows. He is exited for you! He also knows all the decisions you're going to make. Some will make him sad and others will put a smile on his face.  Nothing Ever Occurs To God. He loves you and he always has. You just need to believe it. Maybe God has shut a door in your life that you really wanted to go through. And maybe you are in a dark room searching for a door out. And you feel alone. Well stop searching. Ask God to help you, and he will help you find the door you were meant to go through all along. You just never asked. He wants to help you always. But he gave you the decision. You have to make it. Are you going to just search? Alone? In the dark? or are you going to cry out to Jesus and receive his help?

I think you know the answer.

Verse Of The Week #18

Isaiah 9:6

For to us a child is born,
to us a son is given,
and the government will be on his shoulders.
And he will be called
    Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God,
    Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace.

How to: Christian fish ornaments

STEP 1: Gather what you need:

Acrylic paint (your choice in color just make sure black writing will show up on it.)
Ribbon (fabric or plastic)
Black Paint Pen (probably at your craft store)
Quick air dry clay
(My clay is not quick air dry clay so mine took awhile to dry. A couple hours. But if you stick to quick air dry clay your good. I got mine at Hobby Lobby but you can get it at your local craft store too!)
Paint Pallet, container, or bowl to hold the paint.
A ruler
A drinking straw. (the kind you get at the gas station.)
Freezer paper

STEP 2 : Shaping:

1. Take a hunk out of your clay, as big as in the picture.Make sure you shut the lid so the clay does not dry out. Roll it into a snake like shape. (we all know what that is from playing with play-dough!). Measure it with your ruler. It should be 8' 1/2 in. If its not, that is completely fine. That's just the length I prefer.

2.  Then bring it over like in the pic and press down slightly with your pointy finger. Make sure that the ornament touches the table when you look at it sideways.

3 Now take your straw and barely roll it along the top. This will not make dents but it should smooth it out a little. Make sure you do it very gently and don't press down. Smooth out your finger prints.

STEP 3: Making a hole

1. make a hole by holding the straw vertical, and press down through the clay till you feel the table. Slowly turn.
2. Gently lift the straw out, still holding it vertically. You now should have a perfect hole.
3. Make sure your hole is about 1 cementer to the edge so it does not break while hanging on the tree.
4 Dont waste the clay that is in the straw. Simply pinch above the clay and squeeze it out. Just the way you squeeze toothpaste out of the tube. Put the clay in your container of clay to be used later, in other projects.

STEP 4: Drying:
1.Transport your clay ornaments to the frount porch or somewhere safe they can dry. Let dry. This step may take a while. A day at most. Hope you like waiting. ~smile~

STEP 5:Paint pen practice:
1. practice with your paint pen on the not shiny side of freezer paper. Or just card-stock. Don't use normal paper, cause it will leak through and stain your table.

STEP 6: Painting:

 1. Squirt some paint into your palate/container/bowl. Paint your ornaments. A light coat, not thick. Dry. Since we are using acrylic paint, it only needs about 5 minutes to dry. But make sure they are dry, before doing the next step.

STEP 7: Finishing:
1. Using your paint pen, write whatever you like. Let dry. Then write the year on the back of your ornament. Dry. Tie a ribbon through the hole and Ta-Da! its done.

I hope you have enjoyed this How To I have really enjoyed doing it! If you want to do this, it will be easier if you simply pre-read this and then do it. Make sure to follow this tutorial.

Update and Merry Christmas!

So hello. Merry Christmas Eve Day!
thanks for coming to my blog, the reason I haven't posted is because we had a power outage, for a couple hours, about 21 hours I think. I am not sure. But the computer was messed up so we had to fix it. Oh and I am very sorry I have not gotten to my weekly verses. I will have to catch up. Also there was a problem on blogger and we accidentally got ads on my blog. so if you saw them I am so sorry. We fixed the problem though. We had a huge Ice storm. So now everything is covered in ice.
Merry Christmas!

So I recently (about Friday) got this crafty idea!
Decorate the walls of my room with homemade snowflakes!
By the time I was done my hands and back ached from cutting out snowflakes and standing on a ladder (yes a ladder, in my room) putting up snowflakes on the ceiling.
But I am enjoying my snowflakes.
Lets just hope my sister and I don't wake up in 9 feet snowdrifts! LOL!

You should get creative this winter!

Felt Iceskates

 I made these!

In the Christmas spirit!

I hope you like the changes on my blog!
It's very fun to fix up!

Please tell me what you think of my blog background. I got it at:

So if you want you can go get it or others for your blog! So enjoy that.

My mom made some Christmas cookies, and brownies.

Then we decorated our empty tree, but first we had to put lights on.

Emily (don't really have any good pics) sorted ornaments.
Then we decorated it.

Finished Tree:

The next day, Emily decorated the porch with Christmas lights.

Michael and I did the roof.
 Finished product:

I put up my Christmas tree.

So that's what we have been doing. Hope you enjoyed this post. Tell me what you think in a comment.

Title:  Are We Missing Something?
By: Amy Lane
Christmas 2012
Edited: Amy Lane
Christmas 2013

After a long day of Christmas preparation, Annika plopped into a chair and looked around the room. Everything was in place. But something did not feel right. But nothing was wrong. She shrugged it off and started a pot of coffee. Then she felt it again. What was it? What was missing? Then she heard a voice. "What about me?" Startled she dropped her coffee cup all over the kitchen floor.
After cleaning it up she looked around. No one was in the house. Yet again she ignored the weird feeling. " What about me?"
Was there something she forgot? She glanced at the living room. Yes there was something. But what was it? She felt her pockets for the list of Christmas decorations. Instead of pulling out the crumpled list, she pulled out a piece of paper someone gave her. She read the bold print:
Then it hit her. She had forgotten her nativity scene. In fact. She had forgotten Jesus completely!
Annika had been so busy, that she had forgotten Jesus. So she put up her nativity. As she put the little glass character of baby Jesus, she looked in his eyes. He seemed to say, "I am the one you forgot about, why did you do that?"
" I really am sorry God." Annika said out loud. Annika pulled out her bible and started to read in Luke chapter 2.
Are you so wrapped up in Christmas preparations that you forget the true reason for Christmas?
I encourage you to read Luke 2.

Also I really like this poem!

What Is Christmas
By: Roxie Lusk Smith

It isn't just a starry night,
Or snowflakes on the ground.
It isn't just a merry hearth
With good friends gathered 'round.

It isn't just a Christmas tree,
Or gifts that play the part;
But Love and Peace
The season brings
To touch the seeking heart.

Christmas Blessings!
