B is for Blackwell, Elizabeth

Elizabeth Blackwell was born on February 3,1821in a little house on  Counterslip Street in Bristol, England, to Samuel Blackwell, a sugar refiner, and his wife Hannah (Lane) Blackwell.  Elizabeth had 2 older siblings and would eventually have 6 more siblings.
And later in  1828, Samuel Blackwell moved his family to Nelson St., in America.
Elizabeth was 11 yrs  old when the Blackwell's left for New York  in August 1832. And soon her father set up the Congress Sugar Refinery in New York City.  In 1836, the refinery was burned down in a fire.

And she eventually got accepted as a doctor, and she was the first woman doctor, thanks to her many women today can be Doctors, and nurses. Elizabeth Blackwell died on May 31, 1910.
I could write alot more about Elizabeth Blackwell,
but that would take along time.
