... It is December....

That means that geese have already
started to fly south for the winter...

Bears have stopped feasting on wild berries  and such.. they have settled down in their  dens for a
long winter's nap....

Squirrels have stored food for the winter. And scurrying into their borrows.

Owls are fluffing their feathers and tucking their heads in.

Then theirs wolfs they like to hunt all year around, and and they are  one of the many predators of winter.

And so much more is happening
in the great outdoors, When we are getting busy and ready for the holidays.

This is a real winter wonderland.  Soon it will snow and Christmas time will approach. The stores will get filled people getting the last minute things to make there Christmas happy and something to look back on and remember.    The thing I want for Christmas is people to realize that Christmas is not about the gifts,  sales, and Santa Claus, it is about our Savior's birth.

Dreams Can Come True

Almost all my life I have wanted to play the violin,  of course you have to have a violin to do so. A lady at our church had a violin and so out of the kindness of her heart she gave it to me.  And I believe that if God gave me a violin that he will also give me a violin teacher and the things I need to play.

The Squirrel In The Box

I'm going to tell a story that I  wrote about a squirrel.  Here it is.

      The  Squirrel In The Box

Once upon a time, a little squirrel was running through the forest. It was collecting nuts for the winter. Well, the squirrel was very tired, and he suddenly saw a box full of acorns, walnuts, chestnuts, pecans, and even pistachio nuts. He started running and then he jumped into the box and started to pick up the nuts. Then he noticed it was getting dark rather fast. But, then he looked up and saw a boy shutting  the box.

For the whole night he scratched and scratched, but it was useless. He was trapped! The next day he was awakened by the beep of a car horn. He was taken into a school bus, and the boy shook him around a lot. Then the box was opened, and the boy put a rope around him and showed him to the class. Then he was put into the box again.  Then the boy put the box into the street.

Fortunately a girl named Amanda, saw the car coming, looked at the box and ran into the street and got the box. She strapped it to her bike not even knowing what was inside. The little girl rode her bike home as fast as she could. when she got home, she opened the box. She saw the squirrel and quickly shut it again. She then put it on her bike and rode for the woods. Then the little girl let the squirrel go. She looked him and dumped the nuts beside him and left.

Of course the squirrel was very happy. There was enough for the whole winter! His troubles were over!

God thinks you're Wonderful!

God thinks you're wonderful! God loves you so much if He had a wallet, your photo would be in it. Say nothing and listen.
As heaven whispers. do you like it? I did it just for you.
if we give gifts to show our love how much more would He? He could have left the world flat and grey... but He didn't. HE splashed orange in the sunrise... and He cast the skies in blue.
And if you love to see geese as they gather, chances are you'll see that, too. did HE have to make squirrels tails furry? Was He obliged to make birds sing? And the funny way chickens scurry... or the majesty of thunder when it rings? Why give a flower a fragrance? Why give foods taste? Could it be that He loves to see that look upon your face?

So promise me you'll never forget that you aren't an accident or an incident.. you're a gift to the world. You weren't mas-produced. You aren't an assembly-line product you were deliberately planned, specifically gifted, and lovingly positioned on this earth.

What Happens in Spring

"Cold snowy days are over.  The earth is awakening in the spring.  Trees begin to dress again.  The grass turns green in the spring.  Birds fly back from the south and really begin to sing in the spring.  Flowers pop up and bloom.  What a delight they bring in the spring.  Baby lambs are born.  So soon they are running off in the spring.  The wind tugs on our kites.  It's hard to hold the string in the spring.  Children long for recess.  They rush to get a swing in the spring.  Let's not forget to thank God for each wonderful thing in the spring."

My Beautiful Creek

I've always liked my creek.  This is a picture  of  it. That's the bridge.
And in the summer, we swim almost every day; but, this is only the bridge.
The camera is turned away from where we swim; and, the camera is turned
 to where we can't swim.

Snowed In!!

Hi everyone. Like everyone else we are snowed in!!! We did pray for snow, BUT NOT THIS MUCH!!!!
Well, you get what you ask for. Thank you, God!!
We have at least one foot of snow on our VERY LONG driveway and NO snow shovel. Not to mention the fact that we have to shovel a path to the road; if we want anyone to come to our house!! And we do!  It's crazy, I know, but it's life!
Well, I'm going to go and listen to my little brother read (he's not so little now!), and work on a baby blanket I'm knitting for my hopechest. It's coming along very nicely, too.
Gotta go!
God bless you all, and drive SAFE!!!! (Seriously.)
Happy Snow Days!!

The Battle for Morality...Emily

Love, hate, violence, bad friendships, betrayal, evil.  That's what kids learn from movies, TV, books, video games, and the world.  Particularly teens and pre-teens who are surfing the net.  If you search for something innocent, you probably will get something weird or evil.

When I think of Anne Hathaway, for instance, I think of her in Princess Diaries.  But she now is going to play a part as a gay aunt.  What is happening to our stars and the people we used to think so wonderful?

The answer is that Hollywood is a breeding ground for sin.  Why do we never hear of Christian actors who are making it in Hollywood?  Because you pretty much are not going to get a leading role if you are not willing to act inappropriately, or go with the flow.

I really don't think that actors and actresses realize that they are helping to shape the next generation of kids.  Tomorrow's leaders.  I don't think they realize that what they are doing is affecting the way that kids act.

I am one of the precious few kids in America that do not have a TV to be influenced with.  We don't play video games, have a Wii, or go to school.  We even have to tell our mom what we are going to get on before we use the computer.  You may think that's a sheltered life; and, you're right.  But, I am extremely glad we do not have TV.  We do not play video games.  And my mom tells us what we can and can't do on the computer.

I have been on the web two times when I saw things I wish I hadn't. One was on a website called  ---; and I told my mom I would never get on it again because of what I saw.  That was because of what I have been taught was wrong.  I haven't been on there since.  I've wanted to be; but, I have not been on that site.

You see, Satan wants to corrupt us all.  Adults, kids, and teens who are the easiest target.  He wants to make us do the things we shouldn't.   Repeat our mistakes.  Ruin our morality.  And he is going to succeed in corrupting our generation if we don't choose to not watch the things we shouldn't read, or look at, or even write.  we need to resist evil and accept good.  Now, who's with me?

Some words for the younger wise.

Hello All!
It's Emily agian!

I just wanted to share some advice that may help allot of kids. Well, I used to go to a co-op with a bunch of girls that went to the same church. So naturally they were friends and I was the new girl. Now i know that if you were honest you would have to say you have been in that boat, too. You're looking for a friend, but no one really wants you there? Yep!

Anyway nomatter how much I didn't fit in with them I still tried to fit in. And that's good. If they had been the only girls. But they weren't. The other girls I was friendly to, but even though they may have been a better choice for me to hang with, I still stuck with the girls that did not want me around.

So, for four semesters of this homeschool co-op, I tried to become friends with those girls. A couple of them
were nice to me but I never really became they're friends.

The moral of this story? Don't go with the people that don't want you, go with the people that need you.

Words for the Wise,

Long time no type!

It's Emily. Man I haven't typed I forever!!
Well, I have some news for you. I'm moving. You probably read about it on my moms blog, but for those who didn't here's the sad news. But, the thing is I don't even know when we're moving. So we're just trusting God to show us what to do and where to move. Please be praying for us.

Also, I have to be in eighth grade by my birthday in September. That's two grades of math and one of Language Arts. Whooo!! That's going to be lots of fun. Whatever!!

Anyway, I have finished writing my first book.( It''s not published so don't be looking for it.) Two people have read it but I doubt it will ever be published. Definitely not in it's present state! It was the second story I ever started and did more than one chapter of it. I have another book that I'm in the middle of, but don't know if I'll ever finish. The name of it is 'The No Name Story....Yet!' So you see I don't even a title for it. I might name it
The Never Ending Story... no that's already taken. Maybe I'll finish it. But  maybe not. You never know.

By the way, any teens that I know might be interested in this. I'm starting a book club led by one of the boys in the homeschool group. The book we'll be studying is going to be Do Hard Things by Alex and Brett Harris. They're Christian teens who wrote a book about rebelling against low expectations in this generation to teens.
We're going to meet the first and third Fridays of every month. Each time we'll study a chapter. Then everyone will get a hard thing they have to do in the next two weeks. They can teem up or act alone. But the point is to get teens to get out there and do something hard. And for allot of kids that's hard. So, if you know me, and you want to join you can leave a comment and I'll get back to you.Or if you know my phone number you can call me.

Well I hope to write again soon!
Yours, Emily.
